Just incase anyone has forgotten John Happ was in the block of city council people who voted for the illegal and very costly firing of College Station city manager, Tom Brymer. He also ignore over three hundred citizens and voted to allow a super Wal-Mart to snuggle up to some of our nicer neighborhoods. Luckily his block of developer friendly council people were no longer in a majority at that time and the vote did not pass. These were two significant decisions that most of the citizens of College Station vehemently disagreed with. If you like the idea of a super Wal-Mart in your neighborhood vote for Happ.
On the other hand his opponent
John Crompton supports...
1. Neighborhood preservation and enhancement: Attractive, inviolable neighborhoods are the foundation upon which quality of life is built.
2. Alleviating traffic congestion : Supports creation of a dedicated fund for resolving traffic problems and expansion of hike and bike trails
3. Greening the city : Enhance streetscape by conceptualizing "roads" as "parkways"; develop new and enhance existing parks; and preserve trees
4. Making Growth Pay for Itself: Current residents should not be required to subsidize new growth
5. "High-End" Economic Development: Selective targeting at high tech, R&D, company headquarters, start-up incubations, and high-end services.

Yes, the Brymer firing cost us some money and appeared to be a dark deed done in the wee hours.
If we still had Brymer, we'd still have P. David Romei. Which is better because it would cost us more money and give us dark deeds at all hours.
They didn't like Romei so they fired Brymer?
