Cool College Station

Recently Mayor White signed the Cool Cities environmental initiative and now College Station is going forward with green initiatives.
Do you think that this is good for our city?
What sort of measure do you feel are most important?
Do you feel like these initiatives will be allowed to continue if the Developers win a majority of seats on city council?

Yes! Not only is it good for our city but it is absolutely vital to our well being.

We need to kick our oil habit and do it soon. With good planning we can insure a bright green future where we are not dependent on high priced oil from the middle east and not smothered by coal powered electrical generation.

Hugh,

There is an item on this week's Council agenda that is certainly sprawl related.

8. Public hearing, presentation, possible action, and discussion on an ordinance amending the
Comprehensive Plan from Rural Residential to Planned Development for 293.233 acres located
along Greens Prairie Trail generally located between Greens Prairie Road West and Royder
Ridge.

Not much worth blogging about, now that the Neighborhood Preservation Gang has been installed, has met at taxpayer expense for their annual out-of-town retreat, and their agenda is being fully implemented, correct?

Maybe they'll do such a good job of preserving the neighborhoods, at the expense of the other groups, that some of the sleeping giants will wake up for the next election. But that's not for a while and there's much mischief to be made in the interim, right Hugh?
