Welcome Mr. Cisneros

Welcome to College Station's new director of Parks, Marco Cisneros. Mr. Cisneros has some big shoes to fill. In College Station we love our parks and Steve Beachy did such a great job for us for so long. But no matter how happy we are with the way that things have been, change can still be good. We look forward to getting to know our new Parks Director and hearing about his vision for College Station. What are your visions for College Station's parks? Do we want more natural facilities like Lick Creek Park, Do we want parks that will drive tourism such as water parks? Do we want more sports facilities? What about public parks that would have lot line connection to private homes? Could our parks department be more involved in encouraging a farmers market? What about special events like the Star Light Concert series? Could our parks department be more involved in providing free or maybe paid events? Could they help encourage the kinds of development that we want along Wolf Penn Creek by providing events along the park that would entice our community to see what a great feature we have there? What about the parks system in Bryan, What about county parks like they have in Travis County? In College Station we have so many great examples of what we might do because our parks department has done such a great job of leading the way. Please chime in with what you think.

We need more hiking trails. County parks sound like a good idea. Do we have any county parks at this time?
