Love List

What is it that you love about living in the Brazos Valley? Here are a few of mine:

  • Friendly - From conversations with strangers in the line at the grocery store to the ubiquitous “howdy!” the people of the Brazos Valley are gregariously friendly.
  • Hospitality – We are a welcoming community. We see that every fall in the numerous letters sent to the Eagle praising our university and our community for its polite and friendly atmosphere from football fans afar. We certainly saw that in the way that we not only welcomed but worked to help the victims of hurricanes Rita and Katrina. I could not have been more proud to see people like Denise Fries of Fries Financial Service open their hearts, their homes and their wallets to help these strangers coming to our community.
  • Safety – I always feel safe here.
  • Intelligence - As a university town we are better educated than most communities. This education and intelligence is reflected in our community life.
  • Connection – Having grown up here I am rewarded with a wonderful sense of place, home and connection.
  • Spring Time – Come August we will all want to be somewhere else. But there is nothing like spring time in the Brazos Valley. The serenade of mocking birds, blue bonnets and dulcet breezes, you just can’t beat it.
What do you love about life inthe Brazos valley.
