When the City of College Station pays $80,000 to a consultant to ask
citizens what they think about traffic problems April writes it as a
wonderful idea.
When we get together and offer our suggestions for nothing she calls it
radical.
The [linked] article from today's paper states medians will be used to
impede traffic and Rock Prairie needs to be upgraded just like we
recommended to the Bryan City council to upgrade Briarcrest.

College Station keeps hiring consultants that "listen" to the citizens and then ignore them.
Many years ago, Bryan decided not to go underground with its electric lines, and look at the unsightly mess we have been left with. It has always been difficult for Bryan to find intelligent people to run our city and make decisions based on what's best for the long-range. I am not surprised that medians will be used, wasting four million dollars. It is more of the same moronic mentality.
Look what College Station did with about six million. They developed Veteran's Park. And for eight million they will have a senior center. No wonder people keep moving to College Station where they know how to manage money and improve the town. What do I get for paying higher taxes in Bryan? The city council takes my money and spends fifty million on Traditions. I am leaving Copperfield as soon as our son gets out of elementary school. Sorry to say it, but Bryan is too foolish.
With Bryan as the benchmark, indeed College Station does look good, but we have a long way to go before our growth can be labeled as smart.
